The Noxious Crow
The Noxious Crow Metalworks is the design and fabrication studio of metalsmith, artist, sculptor and designer Nox Wulong (they/them/theirs) based in Philadelphia. They create jewelry, accessories, armor, sculpture, tools and weapons from their fiery passion for metals and minerals, for fire and wire.
Nox Wulong seeks to heal the ailing culture of an increasingly nihilistic society through the creation of beautiful and meaningful works of art worn, used, displayed, or otherwise. They draw their influences from Chinese culture and symbology, Buddhism, Daoism, Anarchism and other philosophies, mythologies across the world (Chinese, Polynesian, Norse, Hindu, etc.) and various genres of media. These media include cyberpunk, solarpunk, horror, science fiction, body horror, cosmic horror, Gothic music, architecture, literature, and fashion. Channeling these influences, the Noxious Crow explores themes of mortality and the moribund, social equity and collective liberation, chaos and balance, flow and rigidity, duality and holity, queerness and gender liberation, darkness and light.
Through beauty, sentiment, love, and passion imbibed works, they hope to contribute warmth and meaning to a cold world.
